S235J2 / 1.0117 is a European standard steel manufactured from non-alloy quality hot rolled material. It is intended for use in construction and general engineering applications. This material is widely used owing to its excellent strength properties and weldability.What is the difference between S235JR and S235JRG2 steel plate? S235JRG2 steel plate is regulated in EuroNorm EN 10025 superseded by EN 10025-2 (2006) and the new designation is just S235JR steel plate. Both editions deal with "structural" steels. The numerical designation of S235JR and S235JRG2 steel is 1.0038.
